FAQs
Are 40ft containers that common?
40ft and 20ft containers make up more than 80% of the total number of containers in the world. They are the ideal transportation and safe storage solution for large quantities of goods, sporting equipment, machinery and non-perishable items.
Should I hire a 40 foot standard height or high cube container?
Whether you choose a 40ft general purpose shipping container or a high cube depends on what you are storing and if you need the extra headroom. High cube containers have an additional 30cm which, across the span of 40ft adds considerably more volume. However, if you are looking to save a few dollars and don’t need the extra storage space offered by this high capacity container type, the standard height would be more suitable, as they are often cheaper and more likely to come under a special offer.
How do I look after my container?
Ensure your container’s contents are dry before you put them inside to reduce moisture build-up. Regularly apply oil to lubricate the hinges and locking bars. Try to keep some space free at the top of the unit and down the sides so the air can circulate.
