Our team has a wealth of knowledge and experience with the supply of shipping containers through New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.  In addition to the supply of general and refrigerated containers, we also have the facilities to convert and modify these into any requirement you have.  If you require workshops, dangerous goods containers, retail units and pop-up stores, or help in converting your sleep-out, we have a dedicated workshop that can complete your project on time and on budget.

Odin Madsen

Regional Manager - Northern and Pacific Islands

Odin is our resident energizer bunny and has been with the company since nearly the inception. The only time he's not running at full tilt is when he's stuck in Auckland traffic. Unfortunately for Odin, this is more often the rule and not the exception these days. It's a tough gig, but he's got broad shoulders! Odin had previously worked in the shipping game before doing his OE and going bush (Shepherds' Bush that is) for around 15 years and getting lost in the publishing game. He thankfully saw the light, came home and is always keen to catch up and have a yarn. When not in traffic, Odin can be often found hopping around a squash court near you, or in his much prized veggie garden...

Nigel Humffreys

Having started out in the Diesel Mechanical industry and then moving into Retail for 15 years he has a can do attitude and a strong focus on customer service. When not at work he loves riding and tinkering with anything with two wheels and when its warm enough in the water surfing. Get in touch with Nigel with your container needs.

Lance Swain

General Manager

Lance is SEA Container royalty having been involved in the game for more years than he'd like to admit. We call Lance "M" (short for The Maharajah) in house as he has proven himself worthy. M is tasked with leading the whipper snappers and heads up our modification business unit. He has likely forgotten more than the rest of us know, so when he talks, we have found it wise to listen! If you have something off the wall that you'd like to air, M's your man, as it's likely he's been there, done that, got the T-shirt!

Scott Shrimpton

National Operations Manager

We don't operate without the man on the pulse ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly so the client is kept happy. After a few years travelling and working across the ditch he returned to NZ in the late 80’s. After a brief stint as a bean counter in a private practice he started in shipping with Seatrans (part of the Owens Group) involving a range of roles starting in accounts to imports and finally operations. He has done the rounds with a range of shipping line companies, so has a great 'little black book' of whose who to know in the world of shipping ... effectively 20 years of ship jumping. Mount Maunganui born and bred, he has fitted in well with the team at head office.

Vanessa Burch

Customer Service Manager

Vanessa joins the SEA Containers team with shipping in her blood. Growing up in the beautiful Mount Maunganui watching ships come and go (Literally!). Her parents owned a Shipping Agency in the Mount where she spent a lot of time as a child visiting vessels with her father so has seen all sides of the business and containers ……….it was obvious she was going to gravitate to working in the industry. After a 12 year stint in London working within the shipping industry, she returned to NZ shores with an English husband in tow. She clearly loves the industry as instantly returned to the front line working for a major shipping line, before we discovered her and offered her the role of Customer Services Manager to help manage our communication to clients as we continue to grow. In the weekends she can be found chasing two young children and a puppy around the place. We have discovered she enjoys a dress up party, which is a hangover from her London days, so for this reason we have banned her from organising the Christmas functions. In her Customer Service Managers role she will lead the charge to perfection in service to you, our clients, by keeping the Team in line……

Emma Olliver

Customer Service

Emma joins the SEA Containers team after spending 15 years as a nanny followed by an 18 month stint as a toddler teacher at an ECE centre. She decided it was time for a career change and to spend her days less paint covered. Emma is proud to call the beautiful Bay of Plenty home for her little family of three - her fiancée and their almost six year old son Alfie. In their spare time you will find the three of them enjoying all that the Bay has to offer - climbing Mauao or the Papamoa Hills, swimming at Pilot Bay and riding bikes along the Otumoetai waterfront. Give us a call or drop us an email, Emma will be the friendly voice on the end of the phone. If you are a Mount local call in and say Hi.

Dean Gibson

Sales Manager - Wellington and Lower North

Dean joins us with years of industry specific experience and a lifetime of sales management under his belt. He brings a heavy focus on service and is committed to helping customers find the best containerised solutions for their needs. Deans' area covers the Lower North Island (Taranaki, Manawatu and Wellington Regions). Dean can be described in many ways, tattoo collector, beard grower, both good and bad at golf (at the same time) ... plus an unpublished children’s book author. However to him, his most impressive accomplishment is being both a Father and Grandfather, and the role he plays in helping raise his children to become better versions of himself. We look forward to the positive impact Dean will have not just in his specific Regions, but to SEA Containers as a whole. Dean is available through the details below, please feel free to reach out anytime.

John Bowen

Sales - Southern Region

John joins the SEA Containers team bringing with him a wealth of industry knowledge in the South Island. He has a vast number of transport connections, so if you need a container anywhere within the Southern Region, call him on 0508 732-266 The rest of us can't understand his notion of 'fun' which involves crashing through forests on his mountain bike and doing swimming in mud during the Tough Mudder days out. We have threatened his employment with termination if he ever suggests we all do this as a team bonding event!

Nick Moore

Regional Manager - Southern

Nick is a proud born and breed Southern Man. As a result he likes to keep the rest of us "Northerners" in line and grounded. For reasons which will become obvious when you meet Nick, us Northerners don't tend to argue with him too much! Nick was a pretty handy footie player in his day, and was lucky enough to play professionally here and "in the Republic" before returning to his roots in Otago with his young family. Before joining our team Nick had been flogging beer for Lion. As one of his old colleagues has pointed out, he will have a harder time swallowing his new products than he did his old ones! When he grows up, Nick wants to become a farmer, but we hope he doesn't grow up just yet!

Delwyn Burgess

Credit Control & Accounts Extraordinaire

Delwyn (we call her Del or Ma'am) joined us in October 2015 to help keep the fuel topped up in the SEA Containers engine room. As all small businesses grow, cash flow is key and Del is the lady to ensure we get paid for the fantastic service and products we supply our clients. Born in The Manawatu and schooled in Masterton, she has worked for the likes of The Ministry of Justice (be warned, she is well-connected), Hirepool, Henderson Hire Cars and Elders, before joining us in our head office at Mount Maunganui where she enjoys the Bay of Plenty lifestyle. Despite having 4 children, 2 stepchildren and 7 grandchildren, she somehow finds spare time to make the most of her hobbies tramping, cycling, gardening and travelling NZ and the World. In her own words, she is "pretty bossy and determined" and "loves the challenge of reducing company debt (and chatting to customers on the phone"). We would like to say to all of our clients, that we hope you enjoy chatting to Del as she has some great stories from her travels worldwide, but selfishly, we would prefer you didn't because if you are required to speak to Del that means you owe us money ...

Karen Climo

Credit Control & Accounts Extraordinaire

Karen joined the team in May 2018 and works in a job-share role with Delwyn primarily in an Accounts Payable. The rest of her days are spent helping her husband run a busy Suburban Bar (only enough to earn her keep in wine) but she really enjoys the variety this brings – there is never a dull moment. Karen has been with her husband for almost 30 years and is the proud mother of 2 grown boys and one Pooch. From Scottish and Maori descent she grew up in Christchurch with 3 sisters, has also lived in Blenheim, Wellington and Queenstown. The decision to move to Tauranga in 2014 came after 15 years of cold Queenstown winters and a complete change in lifestyle. She has had various roles working for both Central Government & Local Government Departments as well as Air New Zealand and is really enjoying her current role at SEA Containers.
