Simply place a competitive bid, and if you’re the highest bidder with a bid close to the RRP, the container (or containers) are yours at that price. Pricing is for containers ex our Nelson and Blenheim depots.

Terms and Conditions
The Silent Auction is live until 11:59 PM on 3rd June 2025.
- Open to New Zealand residents and businesses only.
- Not valid with any other discounts or Loyalty cards / programmes
- Successful bids must be at within $1,000 of the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the container being bid on. Any bids lower than this threshold will be deemed invalid and will not be considered.
- By entering the auction, you agree to pay your bid price and any associated transport from the closest depot if you are the successful bidder.
- The highest bid at the close of the auction will secure the container(s) at that price.
- Transport from our Nelson or Blenheim depots and any lifting costs are not included in the bid price and are the responsibility of the winning bidder. SEA Containers NZ can price this for you.
- The auction winner will be confirmed on Tuesday, 10th June 2025.
- The winning bidder will be contacted by SEA Containers NZ to finalize the purchase.
- By entering, you agree to be contacted by SEA Containers NZ regarding your bid.
- In the event of multiple identical highest bids, the earliest submitted bid will be deemed the winner.
- Subject to Equipment availability
- SEA Containers NZ employees (permanent, contract, or temporary workers) are not eligible to participate.

FAQ’s
A Silent Auction is a fantastic opportunity to win a Shipping Container at a price you choose. You and other bidders submit your bids privately, so you wont see what others are offering. The “silent” aspect allows everyone to bid on their own terms.
What happens after i place a bid?
Fingers crossed! Once you place your bid, we’ll collect it along with the others, so sit tight and await our announcement of the highest bidder. The highest bid (s) received by 11.59 31st March 2025, will receive the Shipping container OR Containers at their bid price. Good Luck!
If you have the highest bid and are the winner, you will be contacted via email and phone to inform you that you’ve won the silent auction. The SEA Containers team will price up transport to your delivery location or you can arrange your own. Once payment of the agreed bid price (and any transport) has been received delivery or a release (If arranging your own transport) can be provided.
To be eligible to bid, you must be a New Zealand resident and have the funds available to fulfil a successful bid and any associated delivery transport from the depot closest to you in Nelson or Blenheim.

Do i need to pay for my bid now?
No. Only the winning bidder will need to make payment. If you are the winner then you will need to fulfil your bid and pay for your Shipping Container upon receiving the invoice at the confirmed bid price. (Plus any delivery transport required)
